We’ve added all these new features - color screen, microphone, slimmer design and timeline - without compromising what you love most about Pebble:

Always-on, daylight readable screen with a great backlight
Up to 7 day battery life
Use any standard 22mm watch band
Water resistant and durable
Tactile buttons for easy eyes-free clicking
Silent vibrating alarms
Step tracking with Misfit and Jawbone
Language and international character support (Chinese coming soon!)
Timeline will work on Pebble and Pebble Steel (exact date TBD)
Works with iOS 8 on iPhone 4s and above
Works with all Android 4.0+ phones including Samsung, HTC, Sony, LG, Google, Motorola, Xiaomi and more

Why Kickstarter? Makes it feel like vaporware from a small-player.

I like the idea of an always-on, color e-paper screen however.

Hmm, I don't think it looks that good. Have had the Steel, and loved the build quality on that. The Pebble Time looks like a cheap Chinese plastic watch you could buy for $5 :(

It's seems like an early bird special. Only 5,000 units available at $159 (get 'em fast) and 20,000 at $179

Interestingly, there are almost 3,000 units still available at $159, but 20 folks have chosen to pay $179 instead.

Edit (five minutes later): Four of the 20 high-price folks have backed out or jumped ship. 16 high-rollers now :)

It is rather ugly (in my opinion), BUT I am always glad to see continued innovation and competition.

I'm curious about the degree of water resistance.

Non-kickstarter price will be $199.

Kind of fun to just to sit and watch the kickstarter page.
That ticker just keeps going ...

Don't these people know about the Apple Watch?!?!
Just kidding, don't go jumping on me. :)
