Greetings all,

For those of you that went on the iUP 2 years ago, did you get any advantage when preordering your X?

I seem to recall people being contacted by Apple towards the end of their 11 month period, asking them if they wanted to move to an X.

I went for an 8+ at launch last September on the iUP and I’m hoping to move to an X+, but I’m aware there may be shortages again, hence wondering if being on the iUP will help.

Thanks.

Last year upgrade program users were able to apply to get the X before standard pre-orders were started. It didn't guarantee you a launch day phone but it gave you more time to get through the credit check part of the process.

It makes a difference which country you’re in. In the UK you can only upgrade in store, but last year there’s an online process to reserve a phone from the stock of your chosen store.

I’m not on the plan but my partner is. He missed the initial window and it was unavailable for launch day by the time he accessed the process via the app. However, he checked back frequently and it later popped up as more stock became available.

Thank you.

I reserved my phone (8+) online for instore pickup and on the day of collection I went for the Upgrade Program.
