I know it’s not ‘compatible’ (whatever that means….😬).

Has anyone tried a 1st gen Pencil with an M2 iPad Pro…?
As they need plugging in to pair with the iPad, I would need to get a lightning to usb-c adapter.

Just seems weird how it wouldn’t physically work, I could live with some features not working….🤔

FYI it doesn’t work…..:(
Pencil doesn’t show up when plugged in.
Luckily I found a cable amongst my many cables, so didn’t cost me anything.

I will have to buy ANOTHER pencil.
Baffles me how Apple can’t support older input devices (it’s only a stylus)….

I hear ya. I have a 2nd iPad Pro with Apple Pencil. I’m thinking of upgrading to iPad Pro M4 and wish that my current Apple Pencil could work with the latest iPads. If there were a way to pair the Pencil to the iPad, it would work but can’t pair it since it doesn’t magnetically latch on to the latest iPads.

If I upgrade, I plan to trade-in my existing iPad Pro which means I’ll be left with an Apple Pencil that can’t be used with anything I own. It is a bit of a waste.

Yep, that is why I thought I would try to pair it with an adapter.
But it just doesn’t see it……booooo.
