So I am looking at the new iPads - the main reason I am considering is because of the new features for the Pencil Pro - ie barrel roll etc. I have a 12.9" m1, 1 TB ( and 5th gen) and iPad mini (last 2 gens), plus various old one lying around LOL. I had a 11" iPP, but my daughter has it now.... Back then, I liked having the 2 sizes, but I don't remember how I used the 11".
So I am more interested in using the new iPad for Procreate or maybe even another drawing app. I would need to research others. I am a graphic designer - I have the Affinity Photo apps etc. I do have them on my iPad as well as on my MacBook. I do prefer using the pencil on the iPad though as compared to the MacBook - trackpads. I don't need the MKB - I do have bluetooth keyboards for the very rare usage..... I am always using the pencil.
I have been trying to research whether or not I would be happy with the m2 airs vs m4 pros. I think the airs might be too much of a downgrade from the M1 Pro. I do use both of my 12.9" - right now mostly at night. After my hubby goes to sleep, I watch something on the older one while playing games on the M1. If I am working on something during the day, I will have be on the M1 and MacBook open (I have 2 external monitors). I have done similar upstairs, with using the 5th gen as an additional monitor.
Right now, the cost is the factor from me upgrading immediately. I also remember when - Photoshop was "coming soon" to the iPad and that soon was a looooong time. But I started using Affinity Photo - and loved it..... So I probably would have waited anyways before upgrading so that what was promised - would actually be functioning on the new iPads. I was sick this past year, so designing went out the door, but I am wanting to do more. My thought is to use my M1 again and if I thought of doing this more - I will consider getting the new iPad.... in the meantime, I am trying to decide what would be a good one for my situation....
