Haven’t had a pencil pro but have had v1 and v2 since the iPad Pro 10.5 release and other iPads since.

The tips last until you accidentally drop the pencil onto a hard floor and the tip gets deformed if it happens to land tip first. It still works just obviously the shape is weird and annoying to write with.

That’s the only time I have replaced a tip. They come with a spare.

I use it every day for note taking.

Excellent! That's good news. Thanks!

I think wear is also down to your screen surface. e.g my last pro had a matte screen protector on it (to make it feel like paper) and there is visible wear on the tip (not enough to replace it tho) whereas this Pro has a smooth screen protector on it and no visible wear yet (but it’s not a year old yet - M4 13”).

Can't comment on the screen protector theory, but they basically do not wear without one. Wouldn't discount the possibility of some accidental small drop deforming it at some point but either way:

You get a spare tip in the box from memory and in 5 years I've needed to replace one once. Replacements are like... $3-4? if you need to buy more :)

I can see how that might be a problem. I don’t have a screen protector for my mini 7, so I should be good on that score. Thanks!

Sadly no spare came with my Pencil Pro. 🤷‍♂️
