I have a friend who has the iPhone 7 Plus (black, 128) who is willing to sell it to me for $400. Excellent condition. I currently have the 6 Plus and was just wanting some thoughts/opinions on if you would jump on this or wait it out until the new iPhone8EditionPro Product (red) comes out.

Would you sell your 6? Or keep it as a backup? Obviously you could sell the 6 to offset some of the cost of purchasing the 7. The good thing is that if you buy it off of your friend, you can still upgrade to the next generation iPhone come September since you won't be tied down by installment payments.

That's a good friend. Even buybackworld is paying close to $500 for a 128 gb 7 plus in excellent condition. Heck, if I were you, buy it from him, and turn around and sell it on swappa and make some money for nothing. You can make a quick $200.
