Yes I know that the iMac was just released this morning but this is MacRumors after all so regarding the next iMac update.

We just started furnishing my home office and some of the furniture is still months away. I'm guessing it will be completed in June (desk is being built in Europe). I've been planning on getting a 24" iMac (was really hoping for a new 30") to cut down on wires.

Based on historical stuff or future hardware plans when would people imagine that the next update would be? I realize this is complete speculation as there is no real info. After all, they were just updated today. Do you think we may see a July or August update for back to school? Or do people think this will be the last update before the rumored release of a Nehalem iMac around the holidays?

Hopefully there will be more info around June or July, but it is fun to speculate now so if you have any thoughts I'd love to hear them and why.

Just my guess but it will be next spring before you see any major update.

So perhaps a speed bump for back to school and Nehalem iMac next spring? It seems most people are upset the processor didn't go up on this update. A 3.25 or 3.5Ghz processor would be nice.

No faster clockspeeds, more cores. Mobile Nehalems are supposed to come in Q4 so we have hope that next gen. iMacs will come before christmas.

Over 3.1Ghz is too hot, but ~2.5GHz quad-core is likely.

Next revision won't be for a while. My hunch tells me by the end of the year prior to the holiday shopping season.
