Anyone in here get a Max and a Hermès to go along with it? My wife saw an ad for the Hermès and really liked one of the watch faces. I told her to check out the price and she was shocked. Suddenly a $1249 phone seems almost cheap.

What does one have to do with the other? Brands like hermes are status symbols. People don't buy a 10 grand rolex just because it's a watch.

No one thinks of an iPhone as a status symbol anymore. Especially when you, your kid, your neighbor and your grandma all have one.....

I’m saying people said that no phone is worth what an iPhone costs, yet there’s a much more expensive watch that most people don’t know even exists.

With Hermes, you’re paying for the brand and the band, that’s it. Apple likely partnered with them still to keep the whole ‘fashion statement’ with the Apple Watch, but by far is not a huge seller simply because of the price point as you mentioned. Most will opt for the aluminum model, just because its the entry-level model, and they *all* offer the same technology/WatchOS with the Series 4. (Although the Hermes Apple Watch does get a custom watch face, but certainly nothing to consider for a purchase price of that caliber.)
