People selling iphone for android phones!

Previously being a Samsung Galaxy S2 owner, now a Samsung Galaxy S3, I have decided I am going to sell my S3 and get an iPhone 5. Why? Well, first of all android OS lags so much I just cant take it anymore. My phone updates to the new version, while my friend's phone doesnt (still has android 4.0 while im already on 4.1.2) and it is not consistent.
What I'm trying to say here is I dont get people who sell their iPhone's to get an android phone just because it is quad-core, octa-core or whatever with 2 GB of RAM and all that, and when you test them side by side, you find that iPhone runs A LOT smoother, is consistent, and sometimes even faster on browser speeds. Thats what I've learned after owning two android phones, and that's why im switching to an iPhone 5.

Some people switched to android and posted here said they loved it, but I'm not one of them. I think it really depends on people.

Because all phones do 90% of stuff an average person does identically. The rest is mainly preference etc. If an android phone is able to do it by costing you less (especially on contract), why bother giving more money to Apple?

4.0 or 4.1.2, does the phone stop doing what it was doing before? Or does it get some real "to die for" ability that people cannot get by?

I used my iPhone 4 on iOS 4.3.3 till July 2012, that was a 14 month old software release and i was happy and didn't bother about an iOS 5 update because it worked as i wanted it to. Plus jailbreak on 4.3.3 was immensely stable and allowed me to use it without being chained to Apple ecosystem.

It honestly comes down to preference. If they feel they get more "bang of the buck" by switching to an android powered phone, cool. Not my money, not my phone.


My last Android phone was a HTC EVO 4G (WiMAX). Awesome phone, but I honestly liked the iOS feel a lot more, and think the iPhone is better IMO. I agree, to me it runs faster, smoother, does everything I need it to do, and it does it very good. iPhone doesn't work for them, let them go to Blackberry or Android, its their preference and money.

Android has come a long way since then. The adreno 200 GPU in the evo 4g was also extremely slow.

Aside from the improvements from Project Butter and the addition from Google Now? I would say the keyboard, but Google recently made that an app. Did they ever bring Offline Voice dictation to 4.0?

I am not anti-android, nor am I an Apple fanboy ( for the smart *** that said it). It doesn't have to do with money at all, actually where I live the Samsung S3 costs $500 and when its used it's $250 (a year old phone). An iPhone may cost more, but when selling it its' price doesn't drop dramatically (iPhone 4, a 2.5 year old phone, still costs $400). That being said, an android phone with 1.9 Ghz octa-core with 2 GB of RAM still lags and is inconsistent, while an iPhone with 1.3 Ghz dual-core with 1 GB of RAM runs smoothly.
For those who think I'm trolling, I admire your intelligence.

My friend's Samsung Galaxy S3 is still running android 4.0 aka ice cream sandwich till this date. He got it before christmas and still hasn't updated.

I had my Samsung galaxy S2 before the S3 and had to live with gingerbread (did not update as well). I'm sure your father in law's iPhone running iOS 4.2 runs smoother than android 4.0.

just to throw my 2c in here. I owned an iP4 before I switched to my GS3 and I can tell you I don't notice any lag, it is smooth and just as reliable as my iP4 was (my mom is currently using it now).

I switched because I was bored of the iOS and wanted to try something new. I am glad I did. Now that Apple is starting to catch up to Android, I might even consider the iP6 if they do a larger screen redesign.

Both are good phones, and do certain things better and worse. Like OSX and Windows.

But I can't help but believe there are significantly more Android users who slam Apple that have never owned an iPhone, then there are iPhone users who slam Android and have never owned an Android phone.
