People with rooted HTC One's

I'm really wanting to put CM10 on my HTC One. Only question I have is, I know HTC said they're working on allowing early adopters to put the official stock android version on their phones. If I root and flash CM10, could I still get that update if HTC makes it available?

Also, any known issues with the current nightly?

I would assume you would have to re-flash back to a stock rom and unroot in order to avail of any RUU HTC may issue for people wanting to go to stock.

I know the rom folks have managed to now get S-Off on the HTC One meaning we can flash super CID and then load any stock RUU we want, and then change CID too.

So as long as there is an official rom out there with Stock Android - I assume you will be able to get it from rom makers if not from HTC directly, and flash it same way as you did with CM10.

To be honest you probably know more about flashing than me if your already considering CM10 though anyway. It's something that's always terrified me a little. I am tempted to try changing my CID however to remove the vodafone splash screen that came on my phone.

I know I could definitely get it from ROM makers. My intention for rooting is just for a Nexus experience, I have no interest in any other mods. Which is why I'd be interested in the official ROM from Google/HTC. Because then you can get OTA updates from Google. I've been holding off, but HTC's track record shows "We have plans" could mean a year from now.

Yes, you will be able to receive the AOSP ROM that HTC releases when they roll it out. You would likely have to flash a stock ROM or RUU. The only reason you wouldn't be able to is if HTC doesn't allow bootloader unlocked devices (HTC keeps track of these since unlocking requires htcdev.com) to receive the update, which is very unlikely. Even then, someone on XDA will release the update as a flashable package.
