On a side note for those of you who use perfect browser, they released their 4.0 update today and at the very bottom of the update description list it says: "iPad edition coming very soon"

I'm definitely interested to see how it measures up compared to safari.

I like atomic browser because you can change the user agent to firefox so websites load as they do on a desktop. Also adblock is a wonderful feature.

I'm another person that's really enjoying Perfect. There are only two minor shortcomings. The button to hide/view the tab bar in full screen isn't as responsive as I'd like it to be. Also, you can't enlarge things as much as you can in safari, but in practice this isn't a concern at all...in safari you can make things absurdly big; in perfect, the enlargement stops at a certain point, but it makes text and images as large as you'd ever need them to be.

...

the new version of atomic is really good but nothing renders pages as well as safari does. there are definately pages that do not load properly on icab or atomic that load better on safari, hopefully the new version of perfect brings a bookmark bar and better rendering. Also I really wish there was a browser that had a fullscreen mode that had the controls on the sides of the screen in the middle because i like to browse the web in the bath sometimes and its really tough to do with the controls at the top

Do you have an example of a site that Safari renders better? I'm not questioning you, I just haven't experienced this shortcoming in practical usage.

As far as I am aware, all the alternative browsers are Safari wrappers (beside Opera). It is likely there's a setting turned on in those browser that is screwing it up, like adblock in Atomic.

I've been troubled by this pesky control to hide/view the tab bar, too. It's too small and too close to the full-page control.

The other thing that bothers me is that the developer seems to have made the row of controls at the top of the screen as small as possible in order to maximize the available display space. Cool idea, except that the controls are too small for my less-than-graceful fingers. I'm always aiming for the bookmark icon and hitting the in-page search instead.

This is still my favorite browser, on the whole. But I'd REALLY love it if I could find the controls more reliably.
