I'd like to think something like this exists, but thus far I haven't found it. All I want is a synced (over the air, through MobileMe or otherwise) GTD solution to access/edit/add to-do items on:

- iPhone
- Mac OSX
- Windows

Why all three? The iPhone is obvious - I'd like to have my tasks available wherever I am. I use a Mac at home, thus I need to be able to view my tasks at home (and edit them with a full keyboard, larger screen, etc.). I use a Windows computer at work, and need to be able to use actions/contexts for work-related tasks as well. Currently I am using Remember the Milk, but nothing syncs nicely with it on the iPhone and the webapp is slow.

OmniFocus almost gets there, but there is no Windows access available. An easy solution would be an online interface where you can add new tasks (like RTM), but that doesn't fully exist. (There is an online Ruby app for Omni that allows viewing all contexts/tasks and adding tasks to the INBOX only, but that requires too much work once you're back at the computer.)

Things almost gets there as well, but again - no Windows access (at all). I can't add things to my iPhone all the time at work, I'd rather do it on the computer (Windows). Another downside of Things is it requires a WiFi connection for sync (same network for both syncing computer and iPhone).

Appigo's ToDo app on the iPhone comes even closer, but still doesn't work well for what I'd like. ToDo syncs with RTM, but doesn't all access to your smart lists or tags. (I need to be able to sort my tasks by context at least - work needs to be separated from home, shopping, etc.). RTM has hinted that they are working on an iPhone app, but won't give any timeframe. I don't want to buy Appigo's app (which only half way works with RTM) if RTM releases one.

There is no perfect solution, but have you considered having Things sync with iCal sync with MobileMe? Then you could add/change/view your To-Dos on Windows through the MobileMe interface.

You may want to try freebie ToodleDo.com, which is web-based and offers a "Slim" version for the iPhone. Next Action etc is under "Status". A "Contexts" column is also available. (You may need to turn on these and other columns.) Be sure to look at the Upgrade link, lower left of your TooodleDo ToDo List page... it'll take you to a comparison chart, detailing features of most popular web-based tasks lists. Great cheat sheet for quickly discerning which service is best for *you*.

There's also a $10 iphone app, Appigo's ToDo, which syncs flawlessly with ToodleDo (or RememberTheMilk-- your choice). FWIW, the slim ToodleDo works fine for me (despite Edge/1st gen iPhone), unless I'm in a signal-poor area-- which is when I use Appigo's app. It's not as full featured as ToodleDo, but it gets the job done.

FYI: Among the features I adore: through the "Connections" page, you can arrange email and/or SMS alerts for high-priority tasks. Since I don't like the battery hit accompanying push-email, I opted for SMS alerts, using my AT&T SMS alias ( http://mymessages.wireless.att.com , preventing sms spam).
