Performance Increases and over-heating: Will Mountain Lion improve it?

hey guys, i've got a mac mini that runs really hot -- 92degrees Celcius when i'm just watching youtube videos. will mountain lion offer an improvement with this? what about a general performance improvement like using less RAM and general performance increases?

i'm not really seeing many reasons for me to upgrade to Mountain Lion.

i'm worried how things will be when it's summer and the room temp is 35degrees C. at the moment it's only 12degrees C.

You could always install ML DP4 and test it and see if it offers any benefit to you, then you can decide whether or not to upgrade when the final release comes out.

Even though Flash is normal to heat up to astronomic values on OS X.

Err, no its not normal. No modern Mac should run Youtube videos till it hits 90C.

Try HTML5 within Safari 5 (or newer):
http://youtube/html5
and deactivate the plugins in the Safari preferences.

Safari uses the H.264 decoder of your GPU, to decode the embedded HTML5 videos. This requires only small amounts of CPU time (less heat).

I actually find that the Youtube5 safari extension, which automatically replaces YouTube's flash player with a non-flash one (but not the official YouTube HTML5 player) works best. YMMV, of course.
