Define "Performance". They are exactly the same. What has better "performance"? A blue Ford Focus or a silver Ford Focus?

As long as the specs are correct, that ram will work, but why 16 gigs?

add 8 gigs @ $55 to current 4 gigs = 12 gigs for $55

add 16 gigs @ $111 pull current 4 gigs = 16 gigs for $111.

that last 4 gigs just cost $55... on the other hand, ram has never been cheaper. :D

yeah I was going with the 16Gb since it was cheaper however, apple online chat says third party memory voids the warranty.

All i asked was if this was compatible with a 2011 iMac

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820139482

Then they said they couldn't guarantee it would fit the iMac since it was laptop memory.

Not sure what to do now was gonna grab this deal.

Looks like the person there doesn't know much about the subject.
It'll work fine, the iMac uses laptop Ram

I really hate this stuff, when you call customer service or somebody else representative in the company and they don't know {insert brown thing here} about their stuff...

Dude, either you do what you're supposed to, i.e. know what you're supposed to know or just close the damn company and go home.

well, I took the plunge anyway and ordered 16Gb and got it for a grand total of $111.26 hope it works with the 2011 27" iMac I'll be ordering soon.

void the warranty?

well that should give you some indication that you should NEVER EVER contact online chat support again.
