...it looks much more like a Windows PC? The style may make them pause to give it a second look and then realize what is really beneath the hood. I think there is something to this, and personally I don't care (and what would it matter if I did?). I just wonder if Steve did that intentionally to win over some of the PC fan base and still try to appeal to the Mac fans.

I like the design and placed an order. I don't read the journalists to decide for me what looks good or doesn't. If that was the case, art would all look very similar. However, some people do and that's fine. If it helps increase market share, then good for him and good for the stockholders.

I think it's that since it's aluminum, it has more of a "professional" appearance. I personally liked the white, but I can see how it might be perceived as a bit unprofessional with the white plastic and everything. Also it might match homes more - I've noticed a lot of people have aluminum (or silver+black) appliances, lamps, etc.

You hear a similar argument with MB vs MB Pro - "The Macbook looks like a toy." "Can you imagine going to a formal meeting and pulling out a white Macbook?!" (someone on this board has said that - I'm not making it up!)
