Permissions on cloned disk image

In attempting to set up a new 2015 13" rMBP, I used SuperDuper to create a disk image of the 2010 MPB's cloned drive, and moved it to a Drobo on a different machine. Just as an extra precaution in the event I miss something in the migration, as I would like to repurpose the backup drives eventually, and wipe the old 2010 MPB.

The disk image process using SuperDuper seemed to work fine, the file size it what I expected. However when I open it, most of the user folders are not accessible. How can I change the permissions on the whole image, so I can easily browse all the files and find what I might need someday?

I'm not clear what you mean by "image"? Did you just use SD to clone the drive over? If you did, select the drive then hit command and i keys together to bring up the get info window. Then look toward the lower left and check the box to ignore ownership on the external drive. That should allow you to access anything you want.

I was looking at the get info window, but for folders, not the entire drive.

I have the drive cloned using SD, but I also backed up that cloned drive to a different drive (drobo) as a .dmg "file" aka the disk image. I wanted to off load the cloned drive so I can use it for a TM drive for my new rMBP. I wanted to start fresh, as I noticed many old files we really don't need anymore.
