Trying to get setup with a new e-mail address, using a personal domain through Google Apps. My first preference would be @firstnamelastname.com, but that is already taken. Out of these two, which do you think look best?

@firstnamelastname.org
@fmlastname.com

Almost feels weird to use a .org address for personal mail, but I'm not really in love with the first name middle initial setup either.

Last name only is already taken as well. FirstMLast is available, but my first name and middle initial running together is a girl's name, so I'm somewhat hesitant to go to that.

Can't use underscores in domain names. Want to stay away from dashes too.

How about a different TLD. I just searched for my own last name. Not much is left but.... Lastname.me.uk was available.

I used http://www.doteasy.com to search for the domains... I am a long-term customer of theirs, but otherwise not affiliated. If you register the domain through them there is a free hosting option for a web presence.

Luck.

Thanks for the link. Just did a search and .com, .net, .me are all taken. I think .org would be better than the rest.

What does everyone else think about using a .org for personal e-mail?

It still beats .xxx

.com would still be preferable for a personal e-mail though.
