I thought it was a random issue a couple of weeks ago but I needed internet on my laptop yesterday but neither my iPhone 15 Plus, nor my iPhone 12 from work would work. I see the device where the WiFi networks always show up, the phone even shows connected but nothing actually loads on my Mac „no internet connection“.

Full 5G bars btw

works here (got me thru a day-and-a half without spectrum wifi).

'personal hotspot' is on, on the phones? 'allow others to join', password set? plus there are some tips at the bottom of that very window...

also (as @chabig suggests) try rebooting the phone (& the mac)....

Did all that and as I mentioned it even shows connected on iPhone and Mac, it’s just that nothing actually loads. Even tried wired instead.

Must be an issue with the Mac since it doesn’t work on two different iPhones on different phone plans and works tethering to iPad

The last time I had a lengthy internet outage I tried with my iPhone 15 and Mac Studio (Sonoma) and could not make it work at all. My old iPhone 11 and iMac Pro did work. I have no idea what the issue is...I tried everything that's been mentioned here.

perhaps call apple, they should be able to sort it out.
