personal hotspot not working

Hi all,

I use my personal hotspot everyday with my Macbook Pro 13 2017 and iPhone X. Yesterday out of the blue it stopped working. I kept getting "Cannot connect" message. I tried all the troubleshooting and restarts etc. I finally reset the network settings on my iPhone and was able to connect intermittently the rest of the day. Today, I'm back to square one and now my iPhone does not even show up as an option when I look for hotspots in the wifi drop down.

Is anyone else having this problem?

This seems to be an iOS 12 problem. Last week it stopped working on my iPhone 7 plus, using it to connect to Windows 10 PCs. Personal Hotspot on ios12 seems to have other issues; it turns on simply by going to that setting. When it worked, it didn't disconnect existing connections when the Hotspot was turned off. Hoping 12.1 fixes things.
