Ok, I am unsure if linking out to a petition is fully ethical or not, but I wanted to get the ball rolling on it regardless. One should not have to make a separate playlist for every single audiobook they have on their ipod. This is a link to a petition that is to let users sort their audiobooks by album so that we can easily listen to the particular audiobooks we want. This has been an annoyance for far too long and I'd appreciate any signatures that it gets. I want Apple to acknowledge and fix the issue once and for all.

When you import a CD with an audio book, select all the tracks on the CD, "Join CD Tracks", and import. Result: One track per CD.

the join tracks feature appears if I am not mistaken in the advanced menu, and only appears AFTER you have selected all tracks, a really helpful quasi hidden feature.

Btw, its perfectly justified to post a petition here to get attention to your issue.

I thought you meant the audiobook problem where often a hard drive based iPod will lose its place and jump straight back to the start

Problem's existed for a years and never been fixed. I'm holding out on buying a new iPod in the (unlikely) hope that Apple might release a flash classic next year :(
