Just looked at the bottom of my iphone and realized it didnt have the torx screws like shown on apples website. Anyone else have phillips head screws?

Currently watching a video of an unboxing on youtube; the screws on this fella's i4 also look to be phillips. Although flaws are expected with new product launches, this iLaunch seems to be getting worse.

Engadget's phone has torx screws.

just checked the ifixit teardown and theirs are phillips #00. wonder why apple changed it again last minute?

Wow!

Really!

Wow!

I mean really!?????

Really??????!!!!!!!

Is this REALLY something worth concern??????

Go sit in a development meeting and have a guy like jmdfd415 bring up the screws and bring a whole 2 1/2 hour meeting to a halt. Just to get rid of the meaningless concern, everyone agrees. OK, OK, OK, we will put phillips head screws in, just shut up so we can move onto things that really matter.

Really!??

I never said I was concerned with it. Im actually completely happy with my phone im not OCD like most the people on here. I just simply noticed it and was curious thats all. No big deal really.

Sorry, my post was not meant to be a personal attack but this is exactly how things like this happen.

Posted from my iPhone 4 :)

Yes, it appears that some people are getting phones with Torx® TX and some are getting phones with cross-head (probably not actually Phillips®) screws. I wonder whether the cross-head variants are earlier, or later. OP: what's your week of manufacture?

appears to be week 25 if im reading it right..

My guess.

Pre-release, demo, and review iPhone 4s had torx to detur them from
being opened. General manufacturing release models probably were meant to have Phillips #00 from the beginning. Anyone get an official release model with torx?
