I am very much appreciative of the reduced banner of the phone app for incoming calls. I do however wish that along with the number it would also show the additional info such as location that the expanded screen shows.

If you want that information, you can tap on the banner, it then gives you the full screen version, where you can see that information.

The potential downside there is that you can't quickly dismiss it at that point like you could with a banner (by swiping up). At that point, if you don't want to answer, you would have to decline the call or just wait it out like before (prior to iOS 14 and the new incoming call screen option).

You could tap the side button to dismiss still?

That won't dismiss though, that will actually decline, which is somewhat different (and essentially one of the reasons that the new banner notification is useful).

Ohh for some reason, I thought it dismissed.

It would be a nice thing if it did that, but for whatever reason that wasn't the design Apple took with it, and it doesn't seem like that has changed now that they actually introduced a dismissal method (via the banner).

Quite a minor limitation. If the call was important enough for you to tap to get more options, you're likely going to answer it or decline it. The need at that point to have a way to quickly dismiss it seems incredibly low.

Given the context of it all in this thread with what OP asked about seems like importance might not be as much of a factor.
