phone app crash after update to ios9

Since i updated my iphone 5s to ios 9 i can't use the phone app anymore. When i open the app the screen freezes any i can't click on anything. Pressing the home button works as well as everything else. Interestingly also the contacts works.

Any ideas how to solve it?

There was a similar problem. My iPhone 5c, when turns on, starts applications in the background (I should add that these applications were open when I run update to iOS 9), even if before it was turned off with a completely empty multitasking menu. I reset settings only. My telephone app died. Then I restore my phone to fully factory settings and then configure it from the zero. All is alright now, but I have 1 more iPhone 5 with automatically starting apps (this apps was in the background when I update this phone), and I don't know what to do: be ready to redownload all apps or wait for update.
iOS 9 is "much" better then iOS 8. Bravo for nowadays Apple.

Are you talking about seeing apps in the recently used apps list? Those aren't started or running in the background after you restart the phone, it's simply a list of recently used apps at that point, and nothing more. If you do want to clear it out, close all the apps, wait about 30 seconds to a minute and then reboot the phone, the apps should be cleared out from that list after the reboot.

No. I mean when multitasking menu is free when turn off my iPhone, my iPhone always start with the same apps running in background. When I left even 1 app in multitasking before reboot, it starts only whith this 1 app running in the background.

Right, and that's what I'm talking about as well. That menu isn't a list of things that are running, but a list of recently used apps. While you are using the phone some of them might be running while others are in memory and many others are neither and just listed there as recent apps. So when you reboot none of them are actually running but just a list of recently used apps. And if you did want to clear them out completely, try what I suggested at the end of my last reply (waiting a bit after clearing out all the apps and before rebooting).
