Phone App Crashes

I have a jailbroken Iphone 3G that was working perfectly. Just today, I tried to make a phone call and when I tried to open the phone app, it would open for a few seconds and then take me back to the main screen. This has happened before to my other apps (and before my phone was jailbroken) and all I had to was delete those apps and re-load them again. But I'm not so sure how to do it with this. Can anyone help? Thanks in advance!

If you have Kate installed from Installer, that's probably the main cause of it. If uninstalling it doesn't work, I would restore and not get installer. If you don't have Kate, not sure...

My jailbroken iPhone takes some time to open some things like SMS and Safari, sometimes. It really depends on what I have running or what I just exited.

What Cydia packages do you have downloaded and about how many megabytes of App Store applications do you have downloaded?
