Phone auto connects to Bluetooth as a phone call

Problem never happened with iOS 9. Had my 6S swapped for battery problems and this problem still happens on the new device.

In my 2009 Ford Fusion with Microsoft Sync you can have media stream mode for Bluetooth audio. During a phone call the radio will display a phone number and the time on the call. Once you hang up the call ends and goes back to media stream. All this works normal.

If I activate Siri my iPhone 6S will force the radio into that phone call mode but with my phone number on the display and the time on with Siri. If I close Siri it will end the call.

My problem is every time I enter my car now with my iPhone 6S running iOS 10, the radio displays that I'm in a call showing my number and the time on the call. But I'm not in a call and I don't have Siri activated. The only way to end the call is to activate Siri and then close out of Siri.

I submitted an issue to apple as part of the public beta and today I updated to the GM but it still does it. I turned off hey Siri. I set call audio routing to speaker. I deleted the Bluetooth profile from my iPhone and from the sync radio. None of these worked.

Is this still an issue? I have seen similar behaviour since updating to iOS 10 - I wasn't on the beta so this only showed up last week after the public release. Get into my car and my music starts playing and a couple of seconds later, the music stops when I get the on screen message that my phone has connected. If I try to change source, I still hear nothing. If I try to change volume, it says it is changing the phone volume.
If I turned off Bluetooth and put it back on, it all returns to normal. Not sure how consistent this is so will monitor it closely but happened a few times now - I just don't think it is happening every time.

Ok - so this happened to me but on my Toyota Highlander, but maybe the issue is similar for you. Upon upgrading the ios, I was automatically logged out of the companion Toyota app, called Entune. And when I would try to connect my phone, it was showing just as you said, my phone number and a phone call with the time on the call counting up. I had to log into the companion app again and then this issue went away and my bluetooth works as before. So, not sure if Fords have a companion app that works with the audio system, but that could be the issue.

Also, as with mine, when I connect to the bluetooth, I have to press the 'i' button and allow it so show notifications, etc. so if there is some other step that you need to take upon initial bluetooth pairing, that could be the issue.

I did the following last night and it has been working as normal ever since.

Unpair the phone in the car.
Unpair the car connection on the phone.
Reset network settings on the phone.
Repair the phone to the car.

Perhaps all the steps are not required but I didn't want to go back and forth so did the lot. Working fine now - BT turned on the phone before getting into the car. Connects automatically and car music is playing as normal without interruption.
