I've been having this weird annoying issue for some time and can't figure it out. After text messaging someone when I put the phone in my pocket it dials that person I texted. Not all the time, just occasionally. I am aware of the phone button on the text app, I'm not pressing it accidentally. I may be pressing a hardware button as I put it into my pocket, one thing that sucks about Samsung is their buttons are way too easily pressed.

It's a Note 4 and it's the touchwiz messaging app. Just wanted to see if anyone else had this.

I take it your not using a case or anything then ? Also are you locking the device before putting it in your pocket ?

No case. I hit the power button when I turn it off. I don't have any security to unlock it though, just swipe.

Yeah very weird. I don't have security on mine either and don't have this dialing issue after looking up a contact. Have you tried wiping the contacts app cache / data and letting it refresh ?

A Samsung phone, yes? Dig in to the settings - some of Samsung's shortcuts can dial the person your texting -- raising the phone to your ear will dial the contact you have displayed. Your pocket may be activating this.

Thanks, I found a Direct Call option that automatically calls whatever log, message or contact open on screen when you bring the phone to your ear. I'm guessing it thought my pocket was my ear somehow. Hopefully this fixes it.

You have all the weird stuff happen to you! I have never had that happen to any of the Samsung phones I have had! :)

So that would be a weird proximity fault ... Hopefully just a software glitch and fixed by disabling that.

You have had rotten luck with Note 4's as Jamezr said.

Yeah I don't know why. This last Note 4is almost perfect, the GPS is still kind of crappy but I am forced to chalk that up to my windshield. Otherwise it's been stellar.
