phone not associating saved 'contacts' with received or dialled phone numbers

just synced my new iPhone with outlook through iTunes. All is good, except that phone is not associating saved contactcs with the dialled or received phone numbers. In other words, if I receive a call from an already saved number in my contacts list, caller I is not showing the saved contact's name...only the number (same for when I diall a number of an already saved contact)

this has happened to me aswell, its wierd and i have no idea how to fix it lol i just went the long way round this and after i answered the call i checked my call history added that number to a contact and it seems to of fixed it but only for that contact lol
