Today I managed to smash my iPhone, the screen has gone completely black so I can't even type the pass code into the screen. I have my old iPhone 5 which I want to use until I can get the screen replaced.

Whats the best way for me to back up my old iPhone, since I can't enter the pass code, Im not sure how I should do it! Every time I connect to my computer, it is asking me to enter the passcode, but I can not!

you don't need the passcode as long as you backed it up to iTunes.

make sure the phone is on
connect it to iTunes
and click backup

it should backup as long as its powered on

if you never backed it up to iTunes before and iTunes does not know the passcode, then
you need to replace the screen.

if its just the screen your looking at 109 or 129 at the apple store

yeah . your stuck , your going to have to replace that screen

before you smashed the screen, were you backing up to iCloud???
