I have the same photos on my iPhone as I have on my iPad but on the phone, the photos app shows I have 1.43 gb used up in storage and on the iPad storage it is 370.9mb. Both devices are set to Optimize storage so how can they be different?! Any ideas please?

Probably because you're taking/collecting most or all of the photos on your iPhone and "optimize" hasn't changed newer originals to optimized versions.

I'd guess that if you let both devices lie dormant for a few days (weeks, months?…who knows) the storage would be closer to the same.

That’s interesting! Trouble is I can’t leave either device for longer than five minutes! Thanks for responding. It’s not a problem but was just baffling me!
