Photo Contract Percentage, what's fair?

I've been offered a contract job to do some high school sports photography. They're offering me 30%.

The thing is, this isn't full time work, but may interfere with business hours. I'm looking for a full time job now, so some income is tempting...

They didn't tell me how much 30% adds up to.

Does anyone with experience in this area want to offer me some advice?

So many questions! I'm not involved in this field in any way but 30% of what? I assume sales of pictures? To parents? 30% of gross or net?

He just told me 30%. I don't really know what it means. I've never done professional photography before, so I didn't push my luck.

If they're going to sell these photos, find out whether they mean 30% of gross or net.
