Hi,

I recently started using iCloud Photo Library and faced a small problem. the photo count in "Photos" tab compared to the count in "All Photos" in the albums tab is always off by "one". I tried deleting some photos and adding some but it's always off by one. So, if the count is 955 in the "Photos" tab it will show as 956 in "All Photos" in the albums tab. In the iCloud storage management the count corresponds correctly with the "All Photos" in the album tab. I know it's minor but anyone else experience this or have a fix/explanation?

It was suggested on another forum that I might have 1 hidden photo somewhere and although I didn't have the hidden folder showing which should indicate that I don't have any hidden photos I still tried the following:

1. I hid all the photos in the "All Photos" tab and checked to to see that the photos tab was empty.

2. Checked the count in the hidden folder and it matched exactly with the "All Photos" folder.

3. I selected all from the hidden folder and chose to "unhide" all photos.

4. The pictures re populated in the photos tab but the count is still off by one.

Seems like there is something that's wrong. Thanks for all the help again.

Do you have another device you could check to see if the problem is exhibited there too? A Mac would be best since that's what gives you the most control over the library.

Try rebooting your phone, too.

I had a bug recently where it would say "n photos to upload" when there were no photos to upload. It would eventually clear up on its own.

Thanks for the advice. I checked my iPad and it has exactly the same problem.

One thing you can do is use the search to filter by year or even month-and-year to try to narrow down where the difference is. Then to try to fix it you could save a copy of the photo that shows up only on one device, delete it from iCloud Photo Library, then re-add it.

Frustrating.
