Attached is a photo of my Mini 5 and my Mini 6 showing what they each display when viewing a PDF stored on OneDrive. Photo taken with my iPP 11 2021, ambient light from a cloudy day (two windows with mini blinds in my office, so not well lit). Both have matte screen protectors, MOKO on Mini 6 and I’m not sure about Mini 5 but screen protectors are a necessity for my uses. I was actually surprised that the Mini 5 screen appears warmer than the Mini 6 screen since I’d felt like the Mini 6 was warmer.

Text is larger on Mini 6, not as much displayed top to bottom as on Mini 5. I have to scroll with this document anyway so that really doesn’t matter to me.

One thing I’m doing a lot more with the Mini 6/smart folio is using it propped as shown here. I don’t know why I didn’t do that with the Mini 4 or Mini 5 (silicone back cover, smart cover). When using it with Procreate, I’m now relying more on rotating my canvas than my previous habit of repositioning the iPad, so that’s a good thing.

(I apologize in advance for the poor quality photo but it’s what I have. I’m mainly showing size reference. If you don’t like the lighting or the screen protectors or the cases, that’s your prerogative, but this isn’t about that.) 5C28A291-E462-41C1-A15D-32559CAFA172.jpeg

Thanks for posting this. I got rid of my mini gen 1 a LONG time ago and had nothing to compare against. So glad I waited for this release.

Conversely, when viewing full pages in portrait, the page is slightly smaller and harder to read on the Mini 6 than my Mini 2 (because the Mini 6 screen is slightly narrower in portrait). Sorry, can't take photos, as I just sent it back for trade-in.
I like to view pdfs full page in portrait, then flip to landscape when i want to read something small more closely, then flip back. Not quite as good doing this on the mini 6. Just FYI.

Nice that things are bigger on the Mini 6.

A lot more content is on the screen vertically in the pics on the Mini 5 though.

(four additional bullet points on left side list are visible on the Mini 5 vs 6)

For letter and A4-size PDF, that's to be expected. Those have a more squarish aspect ratio than the mini 6.

Hmm thanks for the photos. Very tempted to upgrade from my iPad Mini 3. Lately I’ve started using my Mini 3 for sheet music at the piano. In landscape it’s just wide enough to display about a half page at a reasonable width. Someday I could see upgrading to the big iPad Pro for music.

The mini is primarily my machine to run ForeFlight in my two seat airplane, positioned in portrait mode and secured in a special aviation mount with integrated fans to keep it from overheating on sunny days at altitude.

I’m hoping to have time to get pics of PDFs in portrait and maybe an app or two in landscape and portrait. Just haven’t gotten around to it yet.
