Hey everyone, I was looking into how to finally organise the pictures on my phone, and since i got a mac i thought it would be great to just sync it to the photos app and do all the album arranging etc on it rather than on the phone. (there's like years of photos and images videos etc on the phone) But when i started looking into the syncing part i'm kind of lost. So hopefully someone has a setup worked out.
What I want (do let me know if it's not doable):
1. Sync my phone and Mac photos app.
2. Keep original files on both Mac and iPhone.
3. Sync any changes after the fact preferably automatically over wifi.
4. Avoid needing to get an icloud subscription.
From what i understand this would be doable with icloud? but as a student i'd rather not add extra cost that i don't particularly need, as well as I'm not sure if it lets you keep original on the phone?
My photo stream seems to only do the last 30 days, and what happens after that, they just disappear or i have to manually save them?
I'm kind of surprised there's no automatic way of just selecting my phone to automatically sync photos with my mac when they are both on the same wifi or something, or i'm reading apples support documents wrong.
Any insights would be appreciated.
