Hi,
I figured many of you have more experience with mobileme so far then I do.

I originally assumed that there would be over the air syncing of photos via mobileme. Can anyone verify this point for me? I am hoping if I publish an album to the mobileme gallery, that I have someway of accessing/downloading it wirelessly on my iphone, preferably with sync or push. It seems to me the only way to get photos on the iphone right now is with syncing through iTunes.

Thanks for the help!

I'd also love to get some clarification on this. It seemed to me, via the MMe guided tour (which we now know sits on a throne of lies) that the photos on my iPhone should be synced with those at me.com. Yes? No? Only in SJ's wet dreams?

What is with you people!? Did you even bother to view any of the information on the Apple site regarding MobileMe? Or do you just have a really low level of comprehension?

No where does it say that photos will be "synced" or "pushed" over the air to or from your iPhone. It does give step by step instructions on how to send a photo from your iPhone to your gallery (via email just like how it was done in .Mac) and you can view your gallery on your iPhone by going to the url of the gallery and it will show up on your iPhone the way all photos on your iPhone does.

Everything else in MobileMe is now working as promised, it's just that you guys have misread, misunderstood or are making too many assumptions based on your glaring ignorance to be satisfied with what MobileMe actually is. Get over yourselves!

Thanks for the snotty response. I'd feel sheepish except for the fact that MobileMe is NOT working as intended in a number of ways, including the webmail, which just gives me the spinning gear of death, and, oh yeah, it's not push.

Yeah the push is only for mac mail which I have to admit I was disappointed with. What other ways is it not working for you?

MobileMe Webmail does not work AT ALL. I click on the mail icon and nothing happens, it just sits there saying, "Loading.." for as long as I let it. Can't access my e-mail at all. I'm basically pretty pissed that the Guided Tour we all watched functioned completely differently than the actual product does. I create a calendar event on my iPhone and I expect it to be on my cloud fifteen minutes later. Except it's not. I have to force a sync on my MBP, to get them to show up. WTF?

Hehe ya me to. I'm sure they are working on it. In general i'd like to see Apple have a more robust response with MobileMe on there site. It's pretty vague on what's going on.

Oh well, until Monday.

ok... what mail client are you using? (gmail, yahoo?) New phone/ipod? What operating system? I think this is a setting issue- it took me a second to set mine up then it worked.

I'm using MobileMe's webmail. That's what is not working. There are no POP clients forwarded to it, so those aren't an issue. I'm trying to access it via my MBP running the latest Leopard update. Calendar, Contacts, and photos load up on the web, just not the e-mail.

Wow. Well that's the reinforcement I was looking for, just didn't realize it would need to be so confrontational.

Moving on from infowarfare, this would be a cool feature to have in the future. Perhaps it's a concern of file size at the moment. I can see that.

Okay, I just did it so I know it is possible! Under system preferences --> mobileme --> syncing. Is that set up for "automatic"? Is the mail box checked?

Mine has been broke since i setup a pop forward. Anyway to dump that without logging into it on the web side?

Yeah- you have to post them to a web gallery (which is pretty easy) to get see them wirelessly and see them on your ipod/phone. Unfortunately you can't download them straight to your phone from the gallery (I tried) but that doesn't mean that at some point you won't be able to. I added the gallery to my homescreen so it is easily accessible.
