I use Wescotts for my normal reflective brollys, and an Alien Bee shoot-through for location work, especially in tighter spaces. My strobes have mounting points for them- the AB's above the light and the Novatrons below.

I expect with flash guns you'll want some sort of mounting on the light stand.
