Suddenly seeing this on the photo widget. Haven't had any issues until just today? Tried hard reboot, removing & then re adding the stack. Still no good??

hi what did you do for it to sort itself as mine is saying the same and is blank....i wish i could fathom out where it takes the pictures from to use in the widget but it seems like rocket science or me just being a numpty...its only once shown a picture in there right from the start of the betas.... any help would be much appreciated

Mine came back within 24 hours of turning blank. I’ve had no issue before or since. Not sure of the mechanics of it either. May be an iCloud thing? Both my iPad and iPhone photo libraries are linked to the cloud. I did close out the photo app and reboot but that in itself didn’t fix the issue. Sorry I can’t help you further!

thx for the reply ...im sure i mustve unticked or done something somewhere but im buggered if i know what....icloud is all linked and i presume all ok so i just dont know.....thx again tho

Hi everyone. I sort out my issue. I have just removed one picture from Feature Photos Album and my Memories started showing again. I hope it will help anyone too.

Wow, the Photos widget is pretty useless. I'd like to tell it to just show me photos from my Favorites only but there seems to be no way to configure it. :(

It’s using the For You section, as it’s a For You widget, from the photos app. Like how the news app provides a widget called Today and another called Topic. Possibly Apple will add more widgets for the photo app, like Album, which lets you pick a specific album, like Favourites.

My widget was stuck on "No Content Available" as well...

Situation:broken widget and broken 'featured' section in my library

Upon seeing a picture in the widget that I found kind of meaningless, I tapped the widget and deleted it in the Photos app. Now, after deleting the image, photos had crashed, which was a weird glitch. The picture resided in the featured section and after that the widget appeared to be broken.

As pics in the widget are mostly loaded from the featured section, I could conclude that that section was non-existing in my Photos app, after reopening it.

Actually, the widget mostly shows pics from the featured section, alternated by some pics pulled from some (newly created?) memories

The glitch was weird, since I namely often tweaked pics that got shown in the widget. I actually think it is a great way to get triggered to work on my Photos library from time to time. Mostly I remove shadows and add brilliance, and possibly do some cropping, then leaving the Photos app and looking happily at a better looking widget.

Another thing I had previously done, was removing pictures from my featured section that got shown in the widget. Pics of an ex are not really my favourite experience...

Half solution:

Now, I was looking to solve my broken widget issue as well, reverting to this thread that popped up after a search. But, I found no real solution, as seems to have been the case for others.

What I did happened to do however: I went into my Photos app, tapped "Albums" in the bottom, scrolled all the way down to "Recently Deleted", pressed "Select" and then choose "Delete All". After having done that, I was surprised to see my widget showing a picture again. It was rather pure coincidence: I just happened to empty my deleted pics, as it is a typical thing I do when passing by that section, I actually lost focus of the problem I wanted to solve...

But...

The shown picture was from a memory, and not from the "Featured" section... and that one still seems to be broken.

Perhaps, the section is rebuilt over some hours, perhaps not... I will post a follow up on this.

Update: the ’featured’ secrion was rebuilt. I must add that I didn’t keep track of it until this morning and that, in the meantime, iOS was updated to v. 14.1.

So, my issues are gone! So long!
