Photobooth Bug(?)

When comparing the video output of photobooth as seen through my iSight to the video output of Quicktime as seen through the iSight i noticed that Photobooth flips the image like a mirror.

Therefore, in Quicktime it is possible to hold a bit of text to the camera and read it on a monitor receiving that image, but through Photobooth it's a mirror image.

I don't see any preferences to change this. A bug? You tell me.

AFAIK, this was intentionally done. When people line themselves up with the camera to take a pic, if they needed to move to the left, then they would have to physically move to the right.
Apple did this so if you need to go left, you go left.

Probably not ideal, but you can flip saved images by pressing Command+F (you can also set it to automatically flip all future shots too).
