I know Photogene can add text to photos. Can Photoforge?

With both of these apps - do the photos save over the old ones, or do they save as new leaving the originals intact?

thanks for any help!

I can only say for PhotoForge that is saves a separate copy, just tested now to make sure and yup.

But no Text on photoforge, but aside from that, it is the supperior product.

Photoforge doesn't add text. It's got an excellent 'curve' tool to pull details out of shadows.

Photegene has excellent text, crop, and rotate.

Both create a new photo rather than replacing the original.

Cool.. so if I bought both I'd have the best of both worlds I imagine.. Clearly overlap and Photoforge might add text one day.. but it's not a poorly spent $6 thanks for the speedy response...

Photoforge has been getting some bad reviews due image reduction from a 3GS, does anyone know if this will be address or if they have been good with updating?

Got neither product but may as well try PhotoForge at that price and with the promise of 3GS image size in next update :)
