Photographer's Assistant app?

Are there any photographer assistant apps?

i can only think of a couple and that is helpful:

Lightmeter - meter light
Second shootr - wedding photography
ipose u - pose ideas

im mainly looking for something i can write down some notes, a check list, location, client's info, etc...i know i mentioned second shootr but that app is cater to wedding photography. i want something i can use for any photoshoot: scenic, landscape, models, babies, wedding, engagement, car shows, sports event, etc.

Hi there. I'm the 'brains' (or lack thereof) behind Second Shootr.

We are looking to open the app up to all professional photographers in a future update. As far as I'm aware, Second Shootr is the only app that fulfils the requirements listed in your post.

I can guarantee that we'll be updating the existing app rather than bringing out a completely separate one - we're not interested in scamming anyone, we just want to help our fellow photographers out.

However, I just cannot be certain WHEN we'll be adding the upgrade (it basically boils down to requiring a certain number of app sales before I can afford to pay someone to develop the updates for me). If I was to estimate, I'd recon we'd have something out by Feb 2010, but it depends on income and my developer's workloads.

that would be an awesome upgrade because i already like the name of the app. i was going to buy it anyways, but the contents inside is all set for weddings.

if somehow an app can be a combination of:

photobuddy - sun/moon time, exposure calc, dof, flash
ipose u - gives idea for posing
lightmeter - (for the budget photographers)where you can use your iphone camera to take a pic and adjust exposure
second shootr - (but open up to all photographers) client info, equipment checklist, checklist of shots needing to take, notes

this would be the ultimate ONLY app needed for any photographers! it would also be very convenient since you dont have to switch apps around when everything is all in one! time is money!

Whilst I agree an app like that would be great, I can't see it happening. Developers wouldn't see a return on investment because if they price their application more than £5, nobody even considers it.

If I created it as three separate applications, people would be willing to pay £3 a pop, and I might actually see my initial investment returned.

Its an inherent problem with people expecting iPhone applications to be either free or practically so. There needs to be a shift in people's expectations - something I don't see happening any time soon.

i would pay $20 for an app like this. its all about advertisement. if it goes out to the right crowd, they will bite.

is it true that people expect apps to be free or below $5 but for such a powerful app and can save time for photographers, why not? as long as its build right and at least accurate. if i know how to write an app, i would give it a try, but im not as smart as developers, all i can do is throw out suggestions.

i know some photographers would rather pack light. if features listed above can help photographers avoid bringing some equipments and everything needed is at a glance of your phone, that can save a lot of time.

I'd be happy with Shootr opened up to general photography and maybe the ipose u idea but realistically the others arent needed if you have decent kit!
