For anyone who does photography, either for fun/as a hobby or professionally, how much storage do have configured in your iPad Pro?

Also, do you store your photos/videos on your ipad or in the cloud?

I use a 512gb IPP and edit has hobby. I could have easily gotten the 256gb for my photo need, but I have been wanting to get into video also (just a little) so I went for the storage bump a little. I do most of my editing via the cloud I suppose as I upload RAWs into Lightroom Classic and sync to Lightroom CC and edit the smart previews.

If I know that I am going to need to transfer the photos via like airdrop to someone else I will also alongside the import to Classic I will import the RAWs directly into the iPad and edit via that way.

I just always make sure that wherever I am going to do the export I do it from which has the local files stored.

As far as long term storage: I keep my photos on a Samsung T7 and edit off of that and that is syncs to my Synology NAS.

512GB. I don't use the cloud as my travels take me to places where there is poor to no connectivity. I use an external SSD as additional storage for my 512GB M1 12.9. And I always maintain two copies for backup.

I've done exactly the same.

Cool which apps do you use? (Photos? LR?) how does that work with the external storage, never tried that with an ipad.

Do you share the same ssd library between the ipad and your mac/desktop?

I use Lightroom and working offline like this, you don't share libraries (iPad doesn't recognize a library on an external drive). Working remotely without the cloud has complications if you want to synch the iPad editing info with a desktop library - you have to synch the edits/changes on the iPad to the cloud and then to the desktop library. Ideally, I'd like to have my entire iPad Lightroom library on the SSD and then just connect the SSD to my desktop and do a full import from the SSD; but LR Mobile can't do this.

In its case.

256 - I don’t use the cloud for storage. No special reason, other than it saves a few bucks. I keep the photos I take for architectural studies on my iPad directly, my iPhone, and a 512 GB Flash Drive in a fireproof safe — I figure three redundant baks are good.

Hobbist. Both my iPhone and iPad are 256GB. I use Apple Cloud with Photos and Adobe Cloud with Lightroom CC.

Both devices are only using around 100GB of storage. I debated with going 512GB next time as I would like to play around more with Apple RAW photos. I shoot RAW with my Nikon DSLR and Fuji X100F. Depending on the situation, I usually sync/upload to my iPad or MacBook to edit.
