Are there any good books on some photography techniques and tips?

The trouble is that there must be a thousand of them.
I know of several. Are you looking for general introductory photography books or something more specific say for example of doing macro shots of wildflowers or studio protraits. Do you want artistic or technical boooks?

I always suggest starting with the the very basic but broad intros and also reading about and studying the "masters".
