hi folks,

I have a Corel Photopaint 11 file which i saved as a photoshop file then imported into illustrator.

It's my pricing file so I need to make some changes to update my website (I know...not the most conducive, but when you're a 1 man show trying to wear all hats...I try to find the shortcuts when I can :)

I could use my PC with photopaint 11, but one of my resolutions is to move everything over to my macs to be as pc-less as I can. Not that I hate PC - just want an all-mac solution since my office is all macs :)

Back to the file - I can open it in AI making the layers visible and I can select individual objects, but I can not change anything within an object. I can delete them, but I don't want to create a pile of work. For example, when I'm in photopaint, I can open the file and doubleclick on an object area and make changes.

Is it possible or am I doing something wrong?

Cheers,
keebler

i'll just be guessing here, because i've never used Photopaint or tried to convert a Photopaint file to anything. But if you went to a Photoshop file, then to Illustrator, i'm sure something was Rasterized along the way, leaving you with nothing but a bunch of images you can't edit. Man, i hope i'm wrong.

Gonna have to make the changes in Photopaint. You can't edit text in illustrator that was created with Photopaint, or Photoshop.
Layers are rasterized upon import or flattened.
Either way you cant get there from here.
