That's correct, your camera roll is as it always was, the photostream is simply a service if enabled will store up to 1000 of your most recent photos for sharing with your other devices.

Have you worked out how to delete them from photostream before then?

'cause you can't delete them in iPhoto or in the photo app on the phone.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_3_3 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/533.17.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.0.2 Mobile/8J2 Safari/6533.18.5)

I thought you could move them from the photo stream to an actual folder. And then once that occurs the pics appear in that folder or the new folder is created on the iPhone and the photos disappear from the camera roll.

I thought that how it worked but I don't know that for sure since I don't have ios5 yet. Waiting for 4S.

So how does this work with regards iCloud storage, that is the 5GB of free storage. Photos in the Camera Roll count against it, but as I understand it Photostream does not. If my wife takes a photo on her iPhone, does it also go into her Camera Roll? When it gets downloaded to my iPad, does it go into the iPad Camera Roll? This has me really confused right now.
