Has anyone else seen this? My iPhone 11 Pro, which I've had for over a year now, has suddenly been trying to reindex after I take new photos. The way this manifests is that the search tab will not show any "suggestions" while indexing and they won't return until my phone has been connected to the charger overnight. I also noticed this on my iPhone 12 Pro on iOS 14.2 while I had it (ended up returning it). I don't recall this happening on a previous version of iOS. I use iCloud photos and have no other issues FWIW.

Man I really feel like iOS 14 has so many issues more then any other ios release. Constant call issues, photos issue, text issue, call failed issue. These are all key features why we have a phone. Any fix?

Man, it feels good to finally find a post of someone having the same issue. I waited until 14.2 to update and noticed this immediately. Still happens on 14.3.

Another thing that I have noticed is if you go to the People album and click on a person and scroll to the bottom of the page, more times than not, it will say “Analyzing” and will usually coincide with the search tab showing blank. If you let that analysis complete it will “fix” things, but you can’t exit the photos app or lock your phone or else that analysis will completely start over.

Also, it will return back to normal for a short while, but I notice that if you do a 3D Press or long press on the photos app and click the One Year Ago (which I do frequently) it’ll quickly say null and then will work properly. Makes me wonder if that is one of a few triggers for the previous mentioned issues.

Lastly, search terms seem to randomly mess up as well. I use them frequently. So say if I want to search the term “beanie” or something, sometimes it’ll reindex that search term on the spot.

It’s honestly a huge bummer, but I’m glad to know I’m not the only one.
