Has anyone figured out a way to make a network drive (Synology NAS) work with Photos and iCloud sync? I can store the Photos library on the NAS, but I can't do so and allow it to sync with iCloud (automatically download new photos taken on my phone). The network drive is attached and available 24/7.

Apples photos will have to be open on the Mac to allow that automatically add photos. The transferring from and to iCloud happens in the photos app.

There is a popup that setting the system library to the network drive doesn't support iCloud sync.
