  • iPhone 12 Pro 512 GB- 147 GB free
  • IOS 17.0.3 - been on 17 since the final RC over a month ago.
  • iCloud - 1.1 TB free
  • Had the phone since release day.
  • Photo library is older than iCloud.

Just within the last few days, Photos has been acting very strange. When I take a photo it would not let me save any edits I made to it. Sending that photo would result in an endless load window, as if it were downloading it from the cloud over a bad connection. Searching basically doesn’t work. Searching for dates, locations, or even things like “video” returns zero results.

Edited to add that I’ve noticed Photos is not successfully syncing to iCloud. It’s currently been stuck on “Syncing with iCloud” for an hour. Earlier today it said the last sync was yesterday. I’m on a good wifi connection.

I’ve tried restarting the phone. Shutting the phone off and turning back on. Turning iCloud sync off and on. Still have that issue. I haven’t tried signing out of iCloud, yet. That’s usually a massive pain as it’s so integrated with the OS.

Any advise? (Or tips on how to ease the pain of signing out of iCloud?)

I would turn off and on iCloud Photo Library…
More drastic step would be hopefully it’s a bug and an update to iOS 17.1 beta could fix the problems.
