Hi Everybody!

I have a very frustrating issue with photos app! I am trying to edit the RAW photos with the built in Photos app, and if i open the photo for editing there will be a black line in tghe 1/4-th of the image! If i am trying to export the unmodified original, the problem stands there too! I have tried to restart the computer, but i don't know why is the app doing this! I've attached a photo from the issue! The Mac is a 2015 Early MacBook Pro with MacOS Monterey! I haven't seen this before! Can anybody help with this?

Thanks

Of course! I'm a beginner, recently just trying to take RAW photos and learning to edit it! I took it with an iPhone 14 Pro with ProRAW otion on! I've attached the infos of the image! But the other RAW photos i just took a few months ago don't have this issue! Only those photos have this issue which i took today! Since those photos i have updated the iOS to the latest version! Can it be the source of this bug?

And i have noticed that this issue shown on the lower 1/4 of the images! I have rotated the phone while i took the photos and the black line appears on that side where the phone bottom was! Maybe something software issue stuck while i took those photos? I have tried to take photos now and it still produce this bug! The photos app shows the photos without the black line, but if i am entering the edit mode or duplicate the image this line appers on the photo! But it is happening only with RAW photos!

Just to be sure: How does these RAWs look in the free SnapSeed on the iPhone? Which version of iOs? How do you transfer the photos to your Mac?
And: does the problem persist when you open the RAWs in e.g. GraphicConverter on the Mac?

EDIT: try the free Onyx to clear the caches on your Mac. then reimport the photos. Another thing to try is to use the Photos Library Repair Tool, then again reimport from the iPhone.

Hi! If the issue is still relevant to you, have you tried to shoot DNG in Adobe mobile?
Looks like I found that it is the only remedy to fight such behavior. I have even made a whole meta post about that.

Also I can see your image is not really RAW as there is some noise reduction happening, is it ProRAW?
