Hello
I am having trouble with photos duplicating when I connect my iPad to my Mac ie - I have done the following:
  1. imported photos to the Mac from the iPad
  2. left the photos on the iPad
  3. edited the photos on the Mac eg - re-arranged/renamed/changed dates/filed in folders etc
When I reconnect the iPad to the Mac at a later time and sync, I find that I get many duplicates on the Mac.

Can someone explain how the Photos app determines what is the master? What data does it use to compare photos on the iPad and Mac to determine if they are the same or not?

What about importing - how does the Mac 'know' if a photo has already been imported?

Thanks
