Hi,

Since updating to public beta, I have noticed Photos app loads raw files slowly, or my 140mb+ tiff files when zoomed in don’t look sharp, like if they don’t fully render.

Anyone else has this issue?

They are large files. It would take more time to download/load them than it would for smaller files.

Yeah, I have noticed this problem too. Hard reboot makes no difference either. I’m using iPhone 14 Pro Max.
I have noticed if you tap the option to edit the photo it does fully load, strange.

It’s a problem on my iPhone Pro, iPad Pro and Mac Studio as well - all running the latest Dev. betas. Obviously a Photos issue.

Much slower load than in the previous iOS/iPadOS/macOS…

Well I'm not upgrading my Mac anytime soon then. =)
Besides I hate the new Photos app tbh.

Is it so bad on Mac as well? (UI wise)

I actually think it is better Thant he old version. I like the search and I like the folder structure and look.

That’s not what this post is about.

High resolution non HEIF files are definitely rendering at lower quality but render fully when you hit edit. This is a change in behavior from previous OS versions. Full resolution photos are local on device and not on cloud. Reported to Apple. Similar posts on Reddit as well.

Down boy… All I was doing was commenting on a post saying the UI was bad…

We know there is an issue with the rendering of RAW files, and we know this is what we are discussing here.
