Photos App

So I am just about to "upgrade" to the photos app. My workflow is to import to iPhoto and then edit in Photoshop and save back to iPhoto. Is it true that you can not edit in photoshop using Photos directly? I would have to export then reimport?? Please help me clarify that. If this is true its absurd!

There isn't an "edit in..." as in iPhoto. Sorry.

Even for my referenced photos in Photos I'm having trouble with "Show in Finder."

That is absolutely the silliest thing I have heard. Is this Apple's doing or Adobe?

Time to move on to Lightroom where you can easily use a wide variety of plugins such as Photoshop, Pixelmator, the Nik collection, Topaz Labs apps, and Perfect Photo Suite.

Is export and import the only way? I bet this takes ages?

Can OS X Photos handle HDR of any kind?

I usually export to Snapseed for HDR, you see..

In Lightroom 6/CC you can merge photos via HDR or create panos and the resulting file is a raw DNG, not a bitmapped jpg or TIF. So you don't even need a plugin for HDR or panos now.
